Welcome to CCSVI.ca, a site dedicated to information about chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) from the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. We have created this space as a resource for people who are interested in learning about CCSVI.
If you're looking for information about multiple sclerosis more generally, including resources with respect to living with MS, information about currently approved treatments, or ways to get involved, visit www.mssociety.ca
Discussion about CCSVI, particularly on the internet, is growing at a tremendous rate. The topic has ignited spirited debate - as do many new concepts - and has sparked a range of passionate opinions. Differing points of view are reality, and vigorous debate can be healthy, particularly when it comes to scientific theories. The process of raising questions, concerns and skepticisms to new medical theories is part of the process of identifying and answering key questions.
We don't have all the answers, but we can learn here together as the facts unfold. After all, we are all working towards the same goals of improving the quality of life for people with MS and ultimately ending this disease. There is great hope in Canada that the current research on CCSVI will provide solid answers to whether CCSVI is a scientifically-validated condition, whether, and how, CCSVI is related to MS, and how CCSVI might be diagnosed.
People with MS, or those who are connected to someone with MS, want to understand the complexities - the theories, the evidence, the potential risks and benefits. How else can you make decisions that are right for you? CCSVI.ca is here to help you try to make sense of it all.
We're going to look at CCSVI from different angles and provide you with information and links to resources. We'll answer your questions. And we'll share your stories, as after all, people living with MS are at the heart of this site.
Let us know what you think of the site, and please send any questions, suggested topics and links to additional resources we may have missed. This site can be even better with your help.
